Dear Students,
As both a scientific discipline and an area of interest, International Relations has become increasingly widespread and has significantly expanded its scope. In today’s rapidly globalizing world, the growing communication, trade, sports, science, education, and various interactions among nations and groups have all come under the umbrella of the “international” concept, as framed by political science, economics, and history.
The comprehensive and rational analysis of these transformations, driven by globalization and technological advancements, has become a vital necessity. This necessity is especially critical for our country, which is surrounded by numerous challenges, to develop a rational and effective foreign policy.
The Department of International Relations aims to equip you with accurate and up-to-date knowledge in the fields of international relations and foreign policy, enabling you to comprehend and interpret developments in Turkey and the world. Through a transparent and participatory education process at the undergraduate level, the department strives to cultivate individuals with strong interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and an open-minded perspective—qualities that are essential in the field of international relations.
Wishing you happiness in your life.
Prof. Dr. Muhittin Demiray
Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations
