Political Science and International Relations, as a scientific discipline and field of interest, have become highly widespread and have expanded their scope significantly today. In our rapidly globalizing world, the increasing cultural, economic, and political conflicts between nations, social groups, and interest groups, along with cross-border issues such as poverty, migration, and environmental challenges, as well as developments in communication, trade, sports, science, and education, have extended beyond the frameworks of traditional disciplines like political science, economics, and history, now falling under the broader concept of "international."
The need for a comprehensive and rational analysis of these changes, driven by globalization and technological advancements, has become a crucial requirement. This need holds great importance for our country, located in a geopolitically complex and strategically significant region. It underscores the necessity for a rational and effective foreign policy that can navigate beyond the entanglements of political, ideological, economic, religious, and ethnic debates.
The Department of Political Science and International Relations aims to equip you with accurate and up-to-date knowledge in the fields of political science, international relations, and foreign policy. Our goal is to help you develop the ability to understand and interpret global and regional events that closely impact Turkiye. At the undergraduate level, an open and participatory educational process is essential for nurturing confident, open-minded individuals who are adept in interpersonal relationships, a skill vital in the fields of political science and international relations.
